Tour 2: Filtering logmessages in ITLogBook

In this tour we will build and apply some simple filters.

First generate some logmessages for the next steps and open them in ITLogBook:

·      Press the "Start... " button in the "Random Logging Test" group of ITLoggingDemo (will open the Random Logging Demo dialog) and then

·      press the "Start" button in the Random Logging Demo dialog.

By default this will create 3000 logmessages in the logchannel "RandomDemoLog" and open this logchannel in ITLogBook.

Then try out the following:

·      display only the logmessages of Module "RndModule A"

·      display only the logmessage of Case "Initialize"

·      display only the logmessages of a certain Module and Case

·      display only logmessages containing a certain string

·      display only error messages

With filtering you have much more possibilities. If you want to learn more, especially about user-defined filters, look at the Custom filter composition tutorial in the ITLogBook online help. (But don’t worry too much about it now, as at the end of the tours we provide you with this tip again.)
