Standard Procedure of using the ITConfigManager

Below follows an enumeration and explanation of the standard steps.

Start the ITConfigManager

As with all Windows applications there are several ways to start the ITConfigManager and you might have your own preferred techniques and tools. The most common ways to start the ITConfigManager are, sorted by increasing comfort, are the following:

·      Using the Start Menu: After the installation you find the ITConfigManager under "Start Menu / Programs" in the group "iTech Logging".
The name of the group may be different:

§      When another name was selected during the installation then look under that name.

§      When the ITConfigManager was installed as part of another application then look in its group.

·      From Windows Explorer: Just double-click at the ".ICF"-file that you want to edit. The ITConfigManager will be launched and automatically loads your file, which saves you the "File Open" step.

·      From your ITL enabled application: Some applications may have a function, which starts the ITConfigManager and opens the appropriate configuration file.

Open an existing configuration file or create a new one

Like in most document-based programs you can do this using the menu item "File/Open…" (Ctrl+O).

The ITConfigManager also supports drag and drop: You can drag a configuration file from the Windows Explorer into the ConfigManager window and drop it there to open it.

If you have opened a configuration file and now want to create a new configuration file, choose "File/New" (Ctrl+N).

If you have edited a configuration file (changed some of its settings) then the ITConfigManager always asks you if you want to save the changes before it closes this file.

Edit the Configuration File

Most of this work is done in the main window.

Save the Configuration File -- or not

To save the Configuration File, choose "File/Save" (Ctrl+S) or "File/Save As…"

Exit the ITConfigManager

This also is done the standard ways, for instance by choosing "File/Exit" (Alt+F4) or clicking at the X-like icon in the top right corner.

If you have done some editing you will be asked if you want to save the changes.
